The World Of Rocky Mountain Bike

Rocky mountain bike is one of the leaders who realized that future biking is going to rely heavily on full suspension. They are the one who bought out the 3D Link multi-pivot linkage design years ago. There were bikes for huge downhill travel and free ride bikes. The want was of middle one, a lightweight design for more travel.
ETSX Or Energy Transfer System
The quest ended with ETSX. This is a featherweight package weighing 12.9 kilograms for the 19 inch size and literally you can do ANYTHING with this bike.
This is geared with a double A-arm design, which as per the claim of Rocky Mountain is derived from Formula 1 racecar suspension. The design is beautiful with light and small suspension components. The main pivot point lies above the crank and just in front of the seat tube.
Moreover, there is really no chain stay, which can get in the way of the drive train. Sealed bearings at all of the pivots make the construction superb. By and large the rear wheel stays firmly planted onto the ground and the extra special traction is smooth under all conditions. Now great news! You can flip a quick release and alter the travel from 3.5 to 4.5 inches for a good ride in rough terrains for long travels and for an easy climb to the top of the mountain.

1. The frame is prepared with Easton Bi-Oval RAD tubing
2. The welding is rock solid and big
3. The Fox Float RLC front fork has a very efficient lever on top of the right fork leg to control the spring tension
4. Two bottle mounts, one above and one below the down tube are there

I agree with a couple of other reviews. These are called dual use and it says you don’t need to clip in. This is true. I agree that it is not as comfortable to ride when you aren’t clipped in (I actually use a softer shoe when I don’t clip in and I’m just running a quick errand). These are heavy but I don’t notice that on my mountain bike.
I like being able to clip in on both sides so I can just step on my pedals and go and if you are like me then this is probably for you. If you don’t mind making sure the pedal is on the proper side then you might be happier with a different pedal.
I find it MUCH easier to unclip by turning my heel in and have to adjust the pedals nearly as loose as possible.

Convenient to have options of riding clipped in or not, although if you aren’t clipped in the pedal surface of this pedal isn’t exactly conducive to riding comfortably for very long, IMO.
The pedals work well, but they sure are heavy. I’m not one who worries much about weight, but put two of these on your bike and it is noticeable.
I’ve tried lots of pedals and I’ve finally come to the conclusion that if you aren’t going to clip in, you’re better off going with a lighter pedal (like Wellgo) that is flat and has sufficient surface area for your shoe to rest on. If you are going to clip in… then best to do without the platform and save yourself the weight. If you want the option of clipping in or not, you’ll pay for it weight wise.
Shimano makes another pedal that has the SPD option on one side and non-SPD on the other. Although it is also heavy, I prefer it to the PD-M424 because it has a larger flat surface for your shoe on the non-SPD side.

I have been using this peddle for more than 4 years now, riding 5 days a week on two different bikes. It is reliable, forgiving and works as expected. I highly recommend this peddle for everyday commute or daily riding. I have riding it with clip shoes and without. Fully expect to buy another pair once I wear them out.

The Shimano PD-M242 SPD Pedals work great! For those of you that arent sure about if the plastic will hold up, vs just getting the metal ones- IT WILL. I do some pretty rugged mountain biking trails with a lot of banging around and the plastic shell is holding up great. Some people say that getting in and out of them isnt very smooth? Theres a screw on the front of the pedal that will allow you to tighten or loosen the grip to give you the best comfort possible. I would recommend these pedals to anyone looking for tough durability and reliability!

I recently fixed up my mom’s old Peugeot rode bike and I wanted SPD pedals that I could use for long rides, but also have the option to use regular shoes on shorter rides to work and the store. These pedals are perfect for the multi-function cyclist! They were easy to put on the bike and the clips are easy to adjust. I plan to ride in my first beginner triathlon and these pedals will work perfect. Some cyclists might be concerned about the extra weight of these pedals if performance is their main concern, but for me they are perfect. Overall I’m very satisfied with my purchase!

well this is a retro, collectors pedal.
Personally if you are looking for value go for a welgo as they make everyone else’s pedals and put their logos on em.
TBH, between a DMR V12 Mag, shimano DX’s and Straitlines, which are better grip/price ratio wise?
