Question by Cindy: Do your Shoe numbers for Clipless pedals have to match the numbers on the pedal?
I’m looking at buying these Shimano M424 SPD pedals but the Shimano shoes don’t have that exact number. Do i have to have the exact numbers?

no the #’s don’t have to match just as long as they are spd compatable.

    Any mountain shoe will work with your pedals, even Crank brothers pedals work with the same shoes as long as they are SPD compatible. No # matching required! Buy the shoes and the pedals, install the cleats and off you go!

    No, anything that uses SPD will work together. It’s a standard so you don’t have to worry.
