How much are clipless pedals with cleats?

Question by misha81s: How much are clipless pedals with cleats?
I’d like to transition from toe clips to clipless pedals for a road bike – so I’m looking for something basic, with no frills. How much, in total, should I be looking to spend? Also, I know that you can buy the cleats that still allow you to walk (the buckle is recessed into the shoe). Is this worth it for road bike, and how much more will I need to pay? Can I buy online or is it worth going to a bike store?

See below for a selection of pedals.
Just like any shoes, you’ll need to try them on to make sure they fit right, so shoes will require a trip to the bike shop.
