How do I unclip from my Look Keo pedals?

Question by Lilly E: How do I unclip from my Look Keo pedals?
I’m a noob to road cycling (I’m used to MTBs), so I’m having issues with my clipless pedals. I got as far as putting cleats on the shoes and putting the cleats in the pedals, but how do I unclip from the pedals? I know there are various ways of twisting, but which way does it go for Look?
Thanks!

Turn your heel to the outside to unclip. You want the clips so that the ball of your foot is directly over the center of the pedals. It takes pratice but once you get use to them it becomes second nature. You want to unclip way before you need to so you don’t panic when you can’t do it the first time. Most have a tension adjustment that you can adjust to make it easier.

When they are clipped in to take them out just give them a firm(not violent) jerk perfectly horizontally. If it is the right pedal pull right if left pedal pull left. If it is hard maybe the springs of the pedals need loosening. Or maybe you are not just used to it. I like them tight.

for Look Keo peddles you twist out until you feel the peddle give a little then pull up and out.
    hope you can get it!

turn your foot left or right 3* or more, up to 9* and the should just pop out of there. they aren’t any different the any other shoe/cleat setup.
